Position Overview:

The Princeton Neuroscience Institute and Department of Computer Science at Princeton University invite applications for a new faculty position in the area of NeuroAI and Intelligent Systems, at the Assistant Professor rank. We welcome applications from all areas of computer science, machine learning, and human cognitive and computational neuroscience. We particularly encourage candidates whose work includes deep learning approaches to brain and behavior, and neurally inspired AI.

Position Requirements:

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Psychology, Neuroscience or related disciplines, and have a demonstrated record of excellence and leadership in research, commensurate with career stage. We seek faculty members who will be instrumental to creating an ecosystem of excellence and diversity, with a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring. We welcome applications from members of all underrepresented groups. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science and neuroscience, including courses in cognitive neuroscience, and to establish an active, internationally-recognized research program. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development of interdisciplinary programs and collaborations within PNI and across the university.

In addition to other outstanding neuroscience resources at Princeton, a 248K square foot building houses state-of-the-art computing resources, as well as facilities for the full range of neuroscientific methods, including human brain imaging, cellular and circuit level imaging and recording in animal model systems, and studies of non-human primates. PNI comprises 27 core faculty members, whose research interests span from molecular and cellular neuroscience, systems and circuits neuroscience, human cognitive neuroscience, to theory and computational neuroscience. We seek creative and enthusiastic candidates with the background and skills to build upon and complement existing strengths, and help expand PNI into new and exciting research areas.
